I. PetNebula Content

All pages, images, user posted information and images are the property of PetNebula.com. When submitting information to Petnebula.com (which includes, but is not limited to, information posted on user forums), the contributed information becomes the property of PetNebula.com.

• You may not use ANY images or pages without the permission of PetNebula.com and without giving proper credit (example: © PetNebula.com 2004 - 2006, Images used with permission) on every page using PetNebula.com images or documents.
  
  
• Any images you use in your profile/shop/gallery/planet or anywhere else within PetNebula must either be images supplied by PetNebula or images created/drawn/photographed by YOU. The reason for this is that many images available online are subject to copyright laws and using them is illegal without proper consent, the PetNebula staff cannot check that every image used is legal to use or that you have permission to use them, so unless the images you use conform to this rule they will be removed from your profile (It is up to the staffs discretion if they believe an image was created by you or not).
  
  
• Any images supplied by you must NOT in any way be related to other virtual petsites or contain anything that could be considered unsuitable for children.
  
  
• Music is NOT allowed on your profile/shop/gallery/planet or any of the other areas you can edit within your account. This is due to copyright laws, we do realise that some music is available to use legally online but PetNebula staff cannot check that every song used is legal to use and so we ask that you do not use any at all. Music may be introduced at a later date, if so it will be supplied by PetNebula for your use within PetNebula. If music is found on your account it will be removed.
  
  
• You may Not link out to other websites and pages or put a URL (website address) on your profile/shop/gallery/planet/chat posts/mails or any of the other areas you can edit within your account. The reason for this is that we are unable to check and monitor links or URL's that members post. Links or URL's posted by members could easily take you to a site that contains offensive content or content that could be used to hack into your account, so if you see a link that is on someones profile/shop/gallery/post etc, don't click on it, inform a staff member straight away.
  
  
• You may NOT use any content from another members profile/shop/gallery/planet etc without their permission. This includes images, codes (HTML/JAVASCRIPT etc) and written information like guides and stories. Members work hard creating these things to personalize their account and having someone use them without asking can cause a lot of upset. We suggest that if you see something on a members account that you would like to use you should mail them and politely ask if they would mind if you used it, if they agree to your using whatever content it is you have asked to use you should keep the mail sent to you giving you permission so that in the event of any confusion about whether they did or did not give you permission a staff member can check the mail to confirm that they did give you permission. If you don't have a mail giving you permission the content may be removed from your profile/shop/gallery etc.
  
  
• In the interest of your safety we suggest that you do not post any personal details such as your real name, address, school etc on your profile/shop/gallery or anywhere else within PetNebula. Also you may not post personal details of other members/family/friends etc. If we find that you have posted such details they will be removed by staff.
  
  
• You may Not use an offensive/rude username on PetNebula. IF you have registered with an offensive/rude username your account will be frozen. You also may Not give your pets/shop/gallery or planet and offensive/rude name, if you do so the name will be changed by a staff member to a name of their choice.
  
  

II. PetNebula Chat Forums

PetNebula's forums are monitored for as much of the day as is possible, generally there will be at least one moderator online keeping an eye on the forums, the moderators have the power to mute you if you are abusing the forums (this also stops you using the private mail system). All of the rules below also apply to the planet chat forums.

• You must be 13 years old or over to use PetNebula's chat forums, if we suspect that you are under 13 and using the chat forums your account will be muted, which still leaves you free to play on all other area's of PetNebula but stops you being able to access the chat forums, planet chat forums and private mail system.
  
  
• All posts on the chat forums must be suitable for all members (remember children as young as 13 use these forums). This means No profanity (Bad language), No posts of a sexual nature, No discussions about smoking, alcohol or drugs, No posts of a violent nature. There are word filters in place to censor out most of the bad language, do NOT try to bypass them.
  
  
• No discrimination against any race, gender or origin will be permitted. Try to make sure that your posts would not be considered offensive or hurtful to anyone.
  
  
• Be polite and kind to all members. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
  
  
• Do NOT ask people personal or inappropriate questions, (eg, "whats your telephone number?", "do you have a webcam?", "Do you use MSN or other chat clients" or "ASL?"). There are many children on this site and we aim to protect them as best we can. Also do NOT post personal information about yourself like your real name or address, and do NOT post personal information about other members/family/friends etc.
  
  
• Please do NOT post about your personal problems. The staff here are not trained to help you in your personal life. If you are having serious problems in your real life we suggest you talk to your parents, teacher, close friends or find an organization that deals with your problem. Also please do NOT attempt to give other members advice on their personal problems, although you maybe trying to help, an incorrect piece of advice can cause more harm than good.
  
  
• Do NOT post URLs or links to other websites or discuss other websites, the reason for this is explained above, in the PetNebula content section.
  
  
• No spamming the chat forums. Spamming includes posting the same thing over and over again on the same topic or on multiple topics, Posting multiple topics about the same or similar things or posting the same topic as someone else, Posting pointless reply's to posts such as lol, yeah, okay, ty, haha, (smilies), so?, (question marks), etc.
  
  
• Please try to post on the correct board (eg: keep shop and trade adverts on the shop board and bugs on the bug board).
  
  
• All posts must be in English, the reason for this is that the staff don't speak all the languages in the world and so can't moderate properly if they can't understand what you are saying,also please try to make sure what you are posting makes sense this saves confusion and frustration for the staff and other members.
  
  
• This is NOT a dating site so please do not use the chat rooms to find a girlfriend/boyfriend, no posts saying "boys only read this" etc.
  
  
• Please do Not discuss politics on the Chat boards, it can cause unnecessary arguments.
  
  
• Shop contests, (where as members must buy a certain number of items to win a prize etc.) are NOT permitted here as the staff are not able to moderate your shop competitions. Also if you are going to hold a contest with a prize make sure you have the prize you are offering, to save disappointing people.
  
  
• The roleplay board is for roleplaying characters and pets from PetNebula only, and all roleplay posts must be kept clean and appropriate for all ages, if you break this rule it could result in your use of the chat boards being taken away and the removal of the roleplay chat area.
  
  
• Do not ask, beg or whine for free items or Starbucks. This is considered to be begging by many people and can cause arguments between members, If you need help don't be afraid to ask but ask in a polite friendly way.
  
  
• Do Not tell people how to find any of the hidden avatars, It spoils the fun of trying to find them and is unfair on those members who work hard finding them.

These rules must be followed with no exceptions. Failure to keep to these rules could get you muted or frozen.

III. Multiple Accounts

You may only have ONE account. Due to the fact that you can only do some features every few hours, it is basically cheating if you can get more random events and free items than you should and is unfair on the users who play by the rules and work hard for their items/starbucks.

• You may NOT enter another users account for any reason, it does not matter if the account is a family members or friends or if they have given you permission to do so, there is no reason for you to be on anyone's account other than your own. If you are found to be in another users account it will be treated as if it were a multiple account and one of or all accounts involved will be frozen.
  
  
• You may NOT take over someone else's account or have an account given to you, you should make your own account and never give your account away to anyone.
  
  
• The give item feature should NOT be abused, it is fine to give the occasional gift to a friend and for them to give you an occasional gift, however if you are transferring large amounts of items to another account or having large amounts of items given to you by the same user this will be seen as very suspicious and could result in one or all accounts involved being frozen.
  
  
• You may not share an account with another person, you should each create your own account. Sharing an account can cause arguments in the long run.

Multiple accounts are taken very seriously on PetNebula. The staff are very vigilant at keeping an eye on suspicious accounts and have many ways of finding multiple accounts. If for some reason you have any multiple accounts you should tell a staff member so that they can freeze the extra accounts and leave you with your main account. If the staff find multiple accounts before a member has owned up to having them they will freeze all accounts involved.

IV. Private Mails

The staff are able to access all mail box's on PetNebula to moderate the chat between members.

• All mails between members should be suitable for all ages (you can't be sure the person you are talking to is the age they say they are). Do NOT use profanity (Bad Language) in any of your mails.
  
  
• Do NOT abuse members through the mail system, do NOT send threatening or malicious mails to anyone.
  
  
• Do Not ask for a members personal details (eg: real name,address,phone number) and do not give out your personal details or those of other members/family/friends, this is for your protection and the protection of others.
  
  
• Do NOT mail people asking them to join a planet, this has caused problems in the past as some new members get inundated with such mails. Instead post on the planet chat forum that you are looking for new members. If you break this rule it will result in you or your planet being fined.
  
  
• Do NOT roleplay through the mail system, there is a chat board for roleplaying on where everything can be monitored to make sure it's content is suitable for PetNebula and it's members.
  
  
• Do NOT mail people begging them for items or starbucks this is frowned upon on PetNebula. You should work for you items/starbucks as everyone else does.
  
  
• Do NOT spam people's mail box's, spamming is sending the same mail over and over, sending many mails not giving the member a chance to answer or sending nonsense mails.
  
  
• If a member blocks you from mailing them do NOT start posting about it all over the chat boards, members usually have a reason for blocking someone and should not be pressured into unblocking against their will.

Breaking any of these rules could result in being temporarily or permanently muted (so you are unable to use the private mail system or chat boards) or in serious cases having your account frozen. If any member has sent you a mail which upsets or worries you contact a staff member straight away, make sure you do NOT delete the mail sent to you as the staff will need to see it as proof of what has happened so they can deal with the member appropriately.

V. Scamming, Hacking & Cheating

You may NOT attempt to cheat or hack PetNebula.com and any attempt to do so will result in suspension from the site as well as notification to the proper authorities if necessary.

• Do NOT attempt to scam or cheat other members out of their items/starbucks in any way. This is a family site and we wish to keep it friendly and safe for all ages.
  
  
• Do NOT attempt to use things like cookie grabbers, auto refreshers, fake login pages, fake shop items etc. On PetNebula it is not hard to make starbucks, there is no need for cheating.
  
  
• Do NOT ask members for their password or try to hack into their accounts.
  
  
• Do NOT pretend to be a staff member to try and gain items/starbucks or access to members accounts. This includes sending fake emails pretending to be a member of the PetNebula staff.

Breaking any of these rules will result in your account being frozen. And if necessary banning you from the site permanently. Remember PetNebula staff will NEVER ask you for your password. so don't be tricked into giving it to someone. If you believe you have been scammed or hacked you should contact a member of staff immediately and give them as much information on the incident as possible.

VI. General Rules

• Nothing illegal will take place on PetNebula.com or any webpage using any content copyrighted to PetNebula.com. Failure to follow this will result in immediate suspension and notification to the proper authorities if necessary.
  
  
• You may NOT sell, buy, auction, or trade: items, pets, or accounts. Items may be sold, bought, auctioned or traded only on PetNebula.com. Not following this rule will result in the suspension of all accounts involved.
  
  
• PetNebula.com may terminate your account with or without reason and with or without notice at any time. Admins decisions are final.
  
  
• Petnebula and its associates shall not be held legally responsible for ANYTHING, and you agree that in the unlikely event of any legal action to be brought towards us, such proceedings shall take place within Hampshire, England.

As we continue to offer our visitors new and different types of content, we may or may not change or add rules with or without notification and you must still abide by them regardless. . You should make an effort to read the rules page regularly and thoroughly to make sure you are up to date with any new or modified rules.
